The Body Shop York – VIP Event & Edelweiss Launch

At the beginning of September, The Body Shop York hosted a VIP event to celebrate the launch of the new Edelweiss product range. The Body Shop Coppergate in York hosted a launch event and invited local bloggers, influencers and VIP customers to see/try the Edelweiss range for themselves before it launched in The Body Shop stores across the UK. Any opportunity to learn more about skincare, I will jump at the chance to attend. Plus, The Body Shop Coppergate’s events are always enjoyable. Upon entering the store, our names were checked off against the list, we then mingled a little with each other and there were fruit flavoured drinks available.

Edelweiss

The Body Shop Edelweiss Skin Care range is enriched with Edelweiss plant extract, which is so rich in antioxidants – it has 5x richer antioxidant components than Vitamin E acetate. What is Edelweiss? It is found growing in brutal Alpine conditions against extreme wind, snow and rain – the resilient Edelweiss flower thrives. The Edelweiss flower produces its own antioxidant, called leontopodic acid and offers benefits to maintain the skin barrier’s health and smoothen the skins surface. This skincare routine helps to protect the skin against pollution and helps smooth the way to a fresh-faced, healthy-looking glow. The new range also has more sustainable and recyclable packaging.

Goodie Bag

As a thank you to those who attended the event, we were each gifted a The Body Shop Goodie Bag which contained:

• The Body Shop Moringa Shower Gel (250ml)
• A sample sachet of the Edelweiss Intense Smoothing Cream
• The Body Shop Skin Defence Multi-Protection Light Essence (5ml)
• 7ml bottle of Edelweiss Concentrate
• A star shaped bath bomb (I’m unsure what scent this was, as I can’t find it on The Body Shop’s website)

My own purchases and free gift

Although we’d found out we were receiving a lovely goodie bag, I wanted to make some purchases myself as I love The Body Shops products. The Camomile Cleansing Butter has had some really great coverage in the press so I bought it as a gift for my mum. After seeing and trying some of the products from the Edelweiss range, I decided to treat myself to the Edelweiss Liquid Peel and Edelweiss Bouncy Jelly Mist. There was also an offer where if I met the minimum spend, you were gifted an Edelweiss inspired bag (The Edelweiss Experience) which contained the Edelweiss Serum Concentrate Sheet Mask, the 7ml bottle of Edelweiss Concentrate, an exclusive Velcro Headband and of course, the make up bag.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Edelweiss launch event and it was so lovely to catch up with some familiar faces of my friends/local bloggers and influencers. I always enjoy The Body Shop Coppergate’s events, fingers crossed they host some more in the near future! I’m looking forward to using the products I was gifted and also those that I purchased. It’s exciting trying new skincare products.
