Exercise

If you want to stay on top of your fitness then it is essential you incorporate exercise into your daily routine. Aiming to carry out at least 45 minutes of vigorous exercise each day will do wonders for your health and wellbeing. As long as it gets your heart rate up, this is classed as exercise. It could be anything from walking or running around your local park to swimming a few lengths in the pool. You can also do gentle core exercises such as Pilates.

Socialise

If your friends and family have been asking you out for some time then it is essential you go out with them. Socialising can save you from struggling with cognitive decline as you age. Set up a group chat with your nearest and dearest, that way everyone is involved and you can all decide what you are going to do together. Try to meet up at least once a week, this will also give you a chance to catch up with everything that has been going on.

Check Ups

You should always attend appointments that have been made for you. This could range from the opticians to medical screenings. They are important and can catch issues before they become apparent or bothersome. If you are going to the opticians then your prescription might have changed. Did you know that you don’t always have to buy new glasses each time this happens? If you love your frames then how about you enquire about reglaze glasses, this is also a cheaper option.

Mental Health

Your mental health is just as important as your physical health. It is essential you look after it and give it rest from time to time. If you live a busy life with home and work then take regular breaks for some ‘me time’. Without this, you can quickly begin to feel the effects of burnout. This isn’t good for anyone and could lead to you taking vital time off work.

Water

Finally, as an adult you should be aiming to drink at least two litres of water each day. This isn’t just to keep you hydrated but to keep your mind and body hydrated too. Failing to replace the water that is regularly lost through breathing, sweating, and peeing could result in dehydration. If you often feel lightheaded and headachy then it is time to reach for some water, this is your body telling you exactly what it needs.

I hope this blog post gave you some useful tips on how you can best look after your health in 2025. Remember, everything you do makes a difference, even the little things.
