Meadowhall Sheffield Wedding & Prom Event

How good does a day of pampering sound? Amazing, doesn’t it? Imagine how over the moon I was when Meadowhall invited me to their Wedding and Prom event for bloggers. Meadowhall had planned out a bunch of activities at stores for us throughout the day.

As I was travelling from York, I had to get up super early to get the train and no trains go straight through to Meadowhall from York, so I had to change during my journey. I was really looking forward to my day as I hadn’t seen my Sheffield blogger friends in a while.

I’ll just get the negatives out of the way first. Our day was supposed to begin at Benefit in House of Fraser for a makeover at 10am. When we arrived, we were (kind of rudely) told we had missed our appointment as we had been booked in for 9am. I’d screenshot the conversation I had with Meadowhall’s press team which showed that I had been told I was booked in for 10am. The same also happened to Kirstie. We were kind of left standing around waiting, until another staff member told us to come back at 10:30am to see if they could squeeze us in. We explained that we had a day all planned out as a part of the event, so we had to be at Topshop for 11am.

When we returned to Benefit, Kirstie and I were told they could quickly squeeze us in but only for one treatment. Kirstie was took off to have her eyebrows done. I was then taken to have my makeup done, focusing on foundation. My skin actually looked so nice and the lady from Benefit who did my makeup explained the products to me. Everything seemed to go fine for me and I was handed a goodie bag, but Benefit tried to charge Kirstie for having her eyebrows done. Obviously she said no (and I don’t blame her at all!) and explained that she’d been invited for the Wedding and Prom event as a blogger. They still tried to sell her products and didn’t give her a goodie bag at the end. We both felt really disappointed with the experience at Benefit.

The rest of my day was positive and an awesome experience! We headed straight to Topshop for a Personal Stylist session which started at 11am. We were asked to take a seat and were greeted by Topshop’s Stylist, Kirby, who talked through a number of outfits she’d selected which were suitable to wear as a wedding guest.

We were given the opportunity to ask Kirby any questions we had. She was very informative and helpful, it was obvious she was passionate about her job and really enjoyed it. We were then invited into the stylist room where there was a selection of breakfast foods, as well as cava and orange juice. Each blogger was also given a goodie bag which contained two matte lipsticks, information about the stylist service at Topship and an M&S muffin. I enjoyed that muffin on my journey home.

Last of all, we went along to Accessorize who had a eye makeup and hair station for the Wedding and Prom event. They had a beautiful table display of all the wedding and prom products, whilst also offering out glasses of prosecco and some delicious chocolates. I absolutely adored the ‘Love’ balloon which I think will be a perfect little addition to the room when my mum gets married next month.

I’d done my eye makeup before setting off for Meadowhall, so I didn’t have mine done in Accessorize – but I did have my hair styled. I decided to try out a half up/half down hair style, as I’d been considering something like that for my mums wedding. I loved it and I got to choose a beautiful hair accessory from Accessorize.

Overall, I did really enjoy my day even though there were a couple of hiccups at the start. Thank you so much to Meadowhall and the stores for inviting me to their Wedding and Prom event. I had such an amazing day and felt very pampered. If you have a wedding or prom to attend, Meadowhall is a great place to shop as they have such a variety of options.
