RSPCA York: Autumn Fair & Open Day

Today we drove past the RSPCA York and noticed their Autumn Fair was taking place. We’ve visited in the past for other fairs taking place, so decided it would be nice to see what was going on this time. It’s always such a nice experience and we actually got our cat, Delia, from this RSPCA branch.

On entering the building, there was a tombola and you were able to win one prize every time. I decided to give it a try and ended up winning these adorable RSPCA cards.

There’s always so many amazing animals and it’s so sad that they’ve even ended up in the RSPCA. We did notice that everything was so clean and the animals are so lovingly cared for.

We were able to look at the dogs, cats, kittens, rodents (hamsters, rats and degus) and a puppy. I met a cute little Degu called Evie who was unable to live with her sister as they’d had a falling out, so they were in separate cages. Evie was shy but absolutely adorable, she was even talking back to me when I spoke to her. She did keep getting scared whenever someone walked through the building she was in. If I could have her, I really would. I loved her.

The animals at the RSPCA need and DESERVE a forever home, where they are going to be loved and cared for. I’ve had my cat Delia since I was a young girl so I sometimes forget that she was a rescue cat. She’s had such a great life since we rescued her from York RSPCA. I hope I’m in the situation again in the near future where I can give an animal a forever home.
