4 Methods Of Memorialising Your Beloved Pet

It’s never easy to lose a beloved pet. They bring us such joy, and not only feel like a family member but become an integral part of your family unit. This is why losing them can be such a draining and difficult experience. If you’re undergoing this process now, caring for yourself is important. Give yourself a break for a few days, spend time with a few indulgences such as sleeping in, watching movies with your friends and cooking good food.

When you feel a little more like your usual self, you may wish to think about memorialising your beloved pet. In this post, we’ll discuss four worthwhile methods of achieving exactly that:

Pet Urns

If cremated, a pet urn can be a fantastic token of their presence and a memorial. Cat urns will look great on your shelf, while also remaining a keepsake that you cherish and keep. Pet urns can also be customized or engraved with the name of your beloved pet, and tasteful decorations can pay respect to their memory. It’s a nice way of keeping your cat with you, while also doing so in the most tasteful manner.

Pet Illustrations

Having an illustration made of your pet or a rendition of a photograph you shared with them can be a great idea. Sure, you could generate an AI variant of a photo you shared, but it’s nice to have an artist capture the real likeness and beauty of your furry friend. You can also share this with other family members who may miss your pet, and keep such an image with pride of place in your household.

Plant A Memorial Tree

This doesn’t have to be in your garden, as many forestry projects are happy to take funds for planting new trees and dedicating them to people, or in this case, pets, that the donator would light to memorialize. A tree is a perfect symbol because its roots show how deeply your pet is connected with you, while the growing branches represent the joy you shared. It’s a lovely way to memorialize a loved one, and that tree may be around for the rest of your life or longer.

Make A Donation

It can be nice to do some good in the name of your pet. For example, if you had a beloved cat that gave you so much joy, you might donate to a service that provides elderly individuals living in care homes the chance to see and play with cats each week. This can make the day of someone living in a retirement community or care environment, and it may also do some good for rescue or shelter cats too. In other words, through your actions and in the name of your pet, you can share the joy you shared with your lost loved one. It’s hard to think of a better symbol than that. This is just one example of course, many others exist. Donating to pet charities to help with rehoming rescues can be worthwhile, too.

With this advice, you’re certain to memorialize your pet in the healthiest way.
