Behind a suspicious looking door down a dark street in Amsterdam lies one of Amsterdam’s best secrets… a swanky cocktail bar, which is purposely hard to find and only accepts reservations. We decided to give the speakeasy style cocktail bar a visit during our bloggers trip in Amsterdam.
Only same day reservations are accepted and this can only be done via telephone. Between 9am and 8pm, call +31 (0)63 404 51 22 and leave a voice message with your name, the number of people in your party and the time you’d like to arrive. You will then receive a call or text back afterwards.
The lovely host welcomed us through a black curtain, took our coats and hung them up for us. The host then guided us to a booth, with a menu showing which amazing cocktails were available on the wall.
I had the drink called Portrait Of A Girl In A Glass (see photo below) which tasted so good. Literally, this was the nicest cocktail I’ve had in a long time (and I’ve had a lot of cocktails!).
Creating a memorable experience, the staff are so passionate about what they do and the drinks should be enjoyed slowly as it has a really relaxed vibe. Although we did also have some shots!
Each guest gets such a special treatment, which makes you want to return. We were made to feel very welcome and I’d love to return to Door 74 if I go back to Amsterdam again. It’s such a unique experience and I really enjoyed it.
