Celebrate Mothers Day with Moonpig – #Heartfeltwithmoonpig Manchester Event

AD – Press Event | Earlier this month, I was very kindly invited to Moonpig’s Mothers Day event which was held at Whitworth Locke in Manchester. The theme and hashtag for the event was #Heartfeltwithmoonpig. As the event was Mothers Day themed, we were allowed to bring either our mum along, or a mother figure, so when I received the invite I knew my mum would love this event. Moonpig are a online personalised, gifting, flower and card retailer. Due to their popularity, I wasn’t surprised to find out 1 in 3 people in the UK have used Moonpig. Moonpig believe that showing someone you care doesn’t have to be complicated. Moonpig makes being thoughtful super easy and convenient because you can craft the perfect card wherever, whenever, with just a couple of clicks.

 

The venue was in a beautiful hotel in Manchester called Whitworth Locke, which was easy to find using google maps. Upon arrival, we were greeted with prosecco and light bites/nibbles. There was a variety which included coconut shrimp bites in a chilli sauce, quinoa salad and burgers with fries. I loved the bamboo bowls. The event was split into different sections, so after we’d listened to a presentation by Moonpig. It was interesting to learn about just how popular Moonpig actually are and all of the different gifts they offer, such as personalised cards, gifts such as Mothers Day gifts and flowers.

Pamper sessions

Our group started with the pamper session, which was a relaxing hand massage. I love gifts which help you to relax. I can’t remember having had a hand massage before this, so this was a welcome surprise as our first activity of the evening. Both mum & I got to have a hand massage.

Cocktail making

Our next experience of the evening was cocktail making. I’m definitely a fan of a good cocktail, as is my mum. We had the opportunity to learn how to make three cocktails, which was also turned into a bit of a competition. I’m not very competitive to be honest. All of the cocktails we made, used alcohol which you can buy as a gift for your mum from Moonpig.

 

Bouquet making

Next, we took part in a flower workshop in which we got to create our own flower bouquets. One of Moonpig’s florists talked us through, step by step, what we needed to do to create our bouquet. I think this was my favourite part of the whole evening, as it was just so fun. My mum also really enjoyed it as she’d never made her own bouquet before. We even got to pick what tissue and wrapping paper we wanted to use for our bouquets. All attendees got to take their bouquets home with them. They were all absolutely beautiful, everyone was incredibly creative.

Photo booth and personalised card making

Our final activity of the evening involved a pop-up photobooth with a green screen. We were able to select a background from such a huge selection, it was quite hard to pick to be honest. Eventually, we decided on a floral background. Mum and I had our photo taken together, we then selected which one we liked best. This was then available on laptops which were provided, so that we could design our own personalised Mothers Day card. We made ours for my Grandma which we will give to her on Mothers Day.

As we were leaving, we were handed a wrapped Moonpig parcel, which we opened on our train journey home. We discovered it was a letterbox Mothers Day pamper box, which is such an adorable idea for a gift. The box contained an array of items including hot chocolate, truffle bites, tea bags, hand cream, a chocolate bar and so much more!

I felt very lucky to have been invited to this event, as it was one of the best events I’ve ever attended. It was made even better because I got to share the experience with my mum. Thank you so much to Moonpig and Search Labs for inviting me! It was well worth my hurried trip after work to Manchester in rush hour. Thank you for such a wonderful evening which was very immersive and really creative.
