Australia is a stunning country that everyone needs to explore at some point in their life. Of course, it’s also a gigantic country. Knowing where to begin when exploring this huge place can feel almost impossible. There is too much to see, so which locations should you prioritise? Well, luckily, we answer that question in this article. These are the fantastic destinations that you should visit on your next getaway.
Sydney
It wouldn’t be a trip to Australia if you didn’t visit Sydney. The state capital of New South Wales is one of the most iconic cities in the entire country. Obviously, the Sydney Opera House is the city’s main landmark. This fantastic piece of architecture isn’t just aesthetically impressive; it hosts incredible theatrical, musical, and even comedic performances. Whilst you’re visiting Sydney, you should definitely try to see a performance at the Opera House. If you think the building is stunning on the outside, just wait until you see it on the inside. And, of course, seeing high-quality performances will be worth the price of admission, too.
You should also visit the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Again, much like the Opera House, this visually stunning structure isn’t just worth visiting for the sake of admiring it; you can truly appreciate it by climbing it. There aren’t many bridges in the world that allow visitors to climb them. And, if you’re going to climb a bridge, then you’d want it to be a tall and magnificent one such as this. Seeing Sydney from such a great vantage point is an experience like no other. You could even do a tour that allows you to bungee jump from the top if you want a truly memorable experience.
Perth
Another city that you should definitely consider visiting is Perth. It’s surrounded by fantastic natural areas that are well worth exploring. You should do some research on the amazing walking trails in the area. Of course, the capital of Western Australia also has a lively city centre that you’ll want to see. You could check out this Burswood Car Rentals car hire promo. With a rental car, you’d have a quick and easy way to travel around the city. This is useful because Perth is a huge place with a lot to see. Make sure you visit Hyde Park for a scenic walk and the Western Australian Maritime Museum to learn more about the culture and history of Australia through an intriguing collection of maritime objects.
The Great Barrier Reef
Make sure you also visit the Great Barrier Reef. This spectacular coastal reef really puts the beauty of nature into perspective. Australia is incredibly proud of its well-preserved coastlines, but the Great Barrier Reef is certainly one of its greatest treasures. With new challenges in the face of climate change and general environmental degradation, it’s hard to say how long the Great Barrier Reef will continue to exist, so it’s worth seeing this natural spectacle now.
