Earlier this month, I met up with one of my favourite people, Laura, and we decided it was time to give Plush, York a visit! Plush is a boutique café and store, with three themed rooms, which are all unique. One of the most photographed rooms on instagram is The Garden Room. I’d heard some great things from friends about Plush and the photos I’d seen looked awesome.
The Garden Room
Each room has its own theme and we had chosen to dine in The Garden Room. The décor in this room is floral, with swings hanging from the ceiling – you can sit on a swing whilst eating your food. It is light in this room, you will find yourself surrounded by stunning bright colours and it’s a unique experience sitting on a swing whilst you dine.
Food
The menu at Plush includes speciality lattes, smoothie bowls and unicorn toast which has proven itself to be very popular just from looking at instagram. There are also some savoury options, including open sandwiches and toasties. I decided to have some Mermaid Toast (A lightly toasted open ciabatta rippled with cream cheese naturally coloured in ocean-inspired shades using Spirulina superfood powder. Topped with smoked salmon, sliced avocado and toasted sesame, and served with the house salad), as it’s just very me and all of the things I like to eat. Laura picked Pancake My Eyes Off You Breakfast Pancakes (triple stacked pancakes with mixed berries and maple syrup), which are stunning.
One thing I knew I wanted to drink was the Plush Unicorn Hot Chocolate. I’d seen photos of it on Instagram and friends had tried it. The unicorn hot chocolate is, pink raspberry and white chocolate with sprinkles, mini smarties, marshmallows, whipped cream and a unicorn horn. It’s honestly absolutely delicious and perfect for someone with a sweet tooth, I’d drink it again!
A choice of three unique rooms…
The Garden Room – with swing seats and beautiful floral décor.
Neon Room – an amazing Art Deco-inspired neon room. The neon room is also dog friendly!
Bohemian Room – a relaxing room, filled with floor cushions.
What an amazing café. I’m so pleased I’ve been now. We had such a lovely brunch, it was great to catch up with Laura and we really enjoyed our visit to Plush. For my next visit, I want to sit in the neon room. I will definitely be back! More information about Plush can be found on the Plush café website.
