Review: BuyCharity – Online Charity Shop

I can usually often be found walking around my local charity shops looking for good bargains. Life can be busy though (thanks also to the global pandemic), I don’t always have the time. That’s where BuyCharity comes in handy! BuyCharity is an online charity shop/platform, which works with charities from across the UK. Bargain finds are listed on the BuyCharity website and stock is regularly updated. As a buyer, you can purchase your items via BuyCharity knowing that every organisation registered to offer items for sale on the platform will abide by the ethos as expressed in the BuyCharity Customer Promise. There are a variety of categories to shop from, including fashion, homeware, gardening and so much more.

You can shop via the general categories, or select a specific charity and purchase through their page. The charity pages are set up really well, giving an overall explanation about the individual charity and what they do. I personally love this, as you know which cause your money is going towards. For the purpose of this review, I was given the opportunity to select a few items of my choice from BuyCharity so I chose a bag and some black boots for a total of approximately £30.

Jessica McClintock Silver Beaded Mesh Flap Purse with turnlock – unused with tags

I have an obsession with bags, so straight away I went to browse the secondhand handbags and purses section of the BuyCharity website. I was ideally looking for a bag or purse which would be suitable over the festive period, as it is fast approaching. Amongst the listings of beautiful bags, I spotted a silver beaded mesh flap purse which was labelled as unused with tags. When my items arrived, I can see the tag on the bag is from TK Maxx. I’m extremely pleased with my new bag.

Women’s Very Black Panda Embellished Biker Boots – new – size 6

Next I headed to the shoes section of the website, in search of women’s preloved boots. I found some boots I loved, labelled as new! Described as a “cool biker boot with sparkly details” which I would definitely agree with. The sparkle is what attracted me to these boots. They also have a zipper on the inside, meaning they are easy to put on and take off.

I am absolutely obsessed with BuyCharity! Since I chose these items, I keep checking the website to see what other new items they have available. It was also fun learning about charities I wouldn’t normally come across and reading about what they do. You can search for your own thrifty finds over on the BuyCharity website – buycharity.com!
