WARNING: This blog post may cause serious food envy.
Recently I was invited to Ecco Pizzeria in Roundhay, Leeds at their newly opened restaurant based in Roundhay to sample some of their menu. Based on the concept of Neapolitan street food and using fresh ingredients, I would say their pizzas are definitely something special.
I’ve previously visited Ecco earlier this year and absolutely loved it. When I was offered the opportunity to return, I couldn’t say no and as I was allowed a +1, I asked Arron to coming along with me! The food is just amazing. As it is quite a new store, they made a bold move by placing it between two big pizza chains, Dominoes and Pizza Express.
I was so excited to have some of the Mojito cocktail flavoured soda water, it’s honestly so good! The kitchen is very open and you can see the staff making everything from fresh, which I really like. The restaurant is very clean and the staff are friendly.
To start we had the garlic doughballs (the same as my previous visit) because they are so damn good. Unfortunately I didn’t take a photo of them this time as they were a little burnt but they still tasted amazing.
You may think this is a bit of a boring decision on my part, but I enjoyed the pizza I had on my last visit so much that I knew I’d regret it if I didn’t have the ‘Istanbul’ topping again. Arron did decide on a different topping this time though! As you can see, he went for something meat based.
I managed to eat the whole thing, except the crusts because I don’t like crust haha. The pizza at Ecco Pizzeria honestly tastes so god damn good. I think it must be the nicest pizza I’ve ever had.
On this visit, there were more flavours of gelato to choose from (they ran out of a lot of flavours last time). I chose mint and dark chocolate which was incredible.
Ecco Pizzeria have outdone themselves yet again, I was even more impressed this time compared to my last visit. There was definitely an improvement in service during this visit, the staff were friendly and attentive. If you’re ever in Leeds, please head to Ecco Pizzeria – you seriously won’t regret it!

I absolutely love wood fired pizzas, these look so fresh. I bet they were delicious!
I’m actually coming up to Leeds in October so I’ll definitely put it on the list of places to check out 🙂
