Review: Ecco Pizzeria – VIP Menu Tasting Leeds

WARNING: This post may make you hungry and/or cause serious food envy. Most people I know love pizza, I mean what’s not to like?! So, when I was invited to the VIP menu tasting at Ecco Pizzeria, Roundhay Leeds – I was so excited. I was also allowed to bring along a +1, so my best friend Arron agreed to attend with me.

Ecco Pizzeria are well known for their authentic Neapolitan wood fired pizza, italian-style ice cream and (at the Roundhay location) you can get a selection of pasta.

As we sat at our table, plenty of bloggers were already seated and tucking into the food which looked so amazing. There was a selection of drinks for us to choose from waiting for us on the table. I selected a cola to begin with but after seeing others drinking the mojito flavoured soda water, I had a glass of that also.

To start we were presented with delicious dough-balls, served with a yummy garlic and herb dip. These were absolutely amazing, I didn’t want them to end – ever. The garlic and herb dip was extremely fresh and I’d possible say it’s the best garlic and herb dip I’ve ever tasted – believe me I’ve tasted a lot of those.

We each got to choose a topping for our pizza, so I decided to be a tiny bit adventurous and went for the Istanbul – lamb, feta, mozzarella cheese, pomegranate seeds and salad topped with a creamy garlic and parsley sauce. Honestly, it was amazing. I love that you can see the wood burning stove via the open kitchen. The ingredients are all very fresh and the food will give you that satisfied warm feeling in your tummy.

I genuinely felt so full from the starter and the pizza for main, but we were then brought a sample of one of the pasta dishes. I was so full from pizza that I only tasted a little bit of the pasta.

Finally, to top the night off, we were brought fresh gelato. I opted for Dark Chocolate and Ferrero Rocher which was the perfect way to end such a good evening, with tasty food.

Thank you so much to Ecco for inviting us, it was such a wonderful evening with awesome food and lovely company. I also got to meet the wonderful Jess – it was so brilliant to have such lovely company, which made the evening even better. No matter your mood or celebrations, everyone will leave Ecco Pizzeria feeling full and satisfied. I’m hoping to take a trip back to Ecco Pizzeria Leeds soon and return to taste some more of that delicious pizza!
