Review: FIREPIT – Beverley

Earlier this month I was invited to FIREPIT in Beverley to review their new food menu, which launched recently. Located in Flemingate (and a short walk from Beverley Minster), FIREPIT Beverley is a sports bar which serves american style food. You can also watch sports, play games or enjoy drinks with your friends. As I was allowed to bring a plus one, Tom (my fiancé) joined me.

We’d noticed FIREPIT in the past, as we’ve previously visited another restaurant in Beverley and I’d noted that the cocktails looked nice. Upon arrival, the bar was busy but the staff were very friendly and approachable. Our table was reserved for us, with a reservation sign which had my name on it.

Sports Screens

There are screens throughout the bar, which during our visit were showing the football. There was varying sizes of screens, such as the one photographed above which was in the social hall area. There was an absolutely huge HD screen on the opposite side of the bar, where people were mainly watching the football.

Drinks

The drinks menu includes white wine, red wine, rosé wine, fizz, cocktails, cocktail pitchers, gin, shots, tea and coffee, and more. Tom opted for a pint and I chose one of my favourite cocktails, a Blue Lagoon (£7.48). A blue lagoon is a summery, blue cocktail which contains vodka, blue liquor, limejuice and it’s finished with a dash of lemonade.

Food

Tom chose the burger (he’s a fan of a good burger) which was the Flame Grilled Cajun Chicken burger (£12.95). Tom also ordered a side of onion rings (£2.95) which were lovely and crispy. I decided to have the Chicken Legs & Thigh & Fries (£12.95), as our friendly server advised this was cooked on the wood-fuelled grill and smoker. The chicken was cooked beautifully, plus the seasoning on the fries was great.

The menu is a decent size, with options such as burgers, hot dogs, ribs, steaks, dirty fries, nachos, waffles/doughnuts/pancakes and more!

I noticed there are some vegetarian options available on the menu and a friend had messaged me to ask if I could let them know how the choice is for people who are vegetarian. At the time of visiting for the purpose of this review, there was a vegan burger on the menu and vegetarian sides such as fries and halloumi fries. Additionally, there was a veggie starter and four of the desserts were vegetarian.

The Social Hall

The FIREPIT also has a social hall, which includes a variety of sports themed games for people to play. As our visit was during a busy Saturday, we decided to watch others playing the games instead. There is a good amount of choice and something for everyone, so you can have fun playing some sports themed games with your friends.

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to FIREPIT Beverley. We found it to be a very welcoming experience, with a lively atmosphere as the football was on. The variety on the menu means there is something for everyone. Our food arrived quickly and it was delicious, we left feeling very full. Our server was so friendly and very helpful, answering any of our questions. Thank you to the team at FIREPIT Beverley for inviting me!
