Last month I was invited to and attended the VIP launch party at Manahatta York. Press and local businesses were invited to the opening night, which was so incredibly busy. Manahatta York is located on Little Stonegate and is a contemporary bar and restaurant, serving international dishes and a range of beers, wines and cocktails. Manahatta can be found in the same building which was previously the home of Banyan. I was allowed to bring someone along with me, so decided to invite my boyfriend, Kiel.

Upon entry, I was asked for our names so we could be ticked off on the guest list and we were each handed a glass of prosecco. We were also given Manahatta Dollars for the evening, to treat ourselves to some drinks. I loved the added touch of a VIP party menu, so that the vouchers could be used for the drinks on the menu list. The Porn Star Martini is a favourite of mine and Kiel opted for the Broadway Spritz cocktail.

The whole evening was really fun and the entire of Manahatta was extremely busy. I loved the entertainment, which was a brass band with dancers and people on stilts. The theme and vibe of Manahatta aims to bring the energy of New York, to York, which I would say it does do really well.

Throughout the evening, staff were walking around handing out food samples from Manahatta’s food menu, which included sliders (burgers), crispy calamari melts, and chicken katsu curry skewers. As it was so busy, I just tried the samples which were offered to me.

The décor is unique, which is inspired by New York cocktail bars. Compared to their other Manahatta bars in the UK, York has a lot more neon detailing and pink velvet chairs. Whichever direction you look, you’ll spot something interesting. I particularly adore the huge glittery disco ball above the dance floor.

Evidently, Manahatta York want to be the place where people can eat, drink and party! They have definitely proven to me that they know how to throw a party in style, that’s for sure. Happy hour is all day every day at Manahatta York, which is well worth remembering. Find out more information about Manahatta York and view their drink/food menus by heading to the Manahatta website.
