I was recently very kindly invited to review and experience the Outdoor Cinema at The Principal York. The Principal in York, is a 4 star hotel which is located directly next door to York Train Station. It is a beautiful hotel with surprisingly stunning grounds (where the outdoor cinema was located), which I’ve visited previously when I reviewed their afternoon tea on my food blog, Feast Upon York.

Although it was a rainy evening, we decided to not let the weather ruin it for us. The film on this occasion was Bohemian Rhapsody, which I hadn’t seen before but it was on my list of movies I wanted to watch. We went along to the outdoor cinema a little later than advised due to the cold weather, but with enough time to get settled into our VIP seats and to make use of our food vouchers I’d been gifted. We snuggled under our blankets with an umbrella over us to shelter ourselves from the rain. The film was absolutely incredible and it’s a true celebration of Queen, their music and the very talented Freddie Mercury. After the film had finished, everyone was up and dancing in the rain to Queen hits as the movie credits rolled.

Thank you so much to Principal York’s team for inviting me, gifting us with VIP tickets/food & drink vouchers and giving me the opportunity to experience this. Even though the rain wasn’t great, Kiel and I both had such a brilliant evening, enjoyed the film and thoroughly enjoyed the whole outdoor cinema experience. I would love to go to a future Outdoor Cinema again!
