Tramlines Festival 2015 – Friday

Tramlines Festival is a music festival which takes place in Sheffield and it is currently taking place this weekend.

This weekend more than 200 music acts will be playing at over 30 official venues. I bought a weekend ticket from a friend, as in the 5 years+ that I’ve lived in Sheffield, I had never been to Tramlines.

I had work yesterday, but I showered and got ready straight away when I got home. I also made sure I had something for tea, with such a busy weekend ahead of me. I decided not to pre-drink anything because I wanted to enjoy some drinks once we arrived at the venues.

The first (and important) thing to do was go exchange our tickets for weekend wristbands at City Hall. I’d been told that the collection point was so busy at Friday lunch time so I assumed we’d be waiting for ages. To my surprise, the exchange was extremely fast, so we were able to go straight to Leadmill ready for one of my favourite bands.

The whole reason I’m attending Tramlines this weekend is because We Are The Ocean are on the line up. When we arrived at Leadmill, it wasn’t too busy. We were able to quickly grab a drink at the bar and head straight to the stage whilst we waited for WATO. The WATO boys instantly had the crowds attention as soon as they went on stage and every single song sounded awesome live.

I was also delighted when I found out Camo and Krooked were on the line up. After We Are The Ocean had finished their set, we headed straight to the O2 Academy Sheffield ready for Camo and Krooked. The best way to summarise their set is: it was absolutely AMAZING. The atmosphere was awesome.

It’s such a strange, but beautiful feeling going to a big festival which is in my own city and being able to return home to my own bed at the end of the night.

My first day at Tramlines was so epic. It’s now Saturday and I’m about to get ready and head out for the second day of Tramlines 2015!
