AD – Press Event & Gifted | This week is York Restaurant Week, which is running from the 2nd March until the 8th March 2020 for a full week. I was very kindly invited to attend the York Restaurant Week 2020 launch at Fancy Hanks York on Monday, which was organised by Avocado Events. York Restaurant Week has returned in 2020, for its second year. There are over 60 restaurants and eateries taking part! I’d never been to Fancy Hanks York before so it was a great opportunity for me to check out the restaurant during the launch event. My influencer bestie Laura was also invited, so I met up/hung out with her throughout the event.
Upon arrival, we were handed a glass of prosecco which was a nice touch after a day at work. We then found some seats and there was a quick introduction on behalf of Fancy Hanks York, York Restaurant Week and York BID. Then it was time for the food to be served! The food at Fancy Hanks York is inspired by southern street food. This included platters of loaded pickles, buffalo chicken wings, buttermilk chicken nuggets, pimento cheese balls and fries. The children attending got Mississippi Mud Pie Milkshakes, which I have to say looked amazing but they were all gone by the time I arrived. I must try one in the near future, that’s for sure!
The décor of Fancy Hanks York is absolutely beautiful. They have some amazing art work along the walls, some of which is Disney inspired. There is also a beautiful outside area, with a stunning floral wall. It will be so lovely to sit there in summer with a cocktail. Laura and I were talking about how pretty it would be as a background for photos.
As mentioned above, the launch event was organised by Avocado Events. Avocado Events are based in York and run family/business events. It was lovely to finally have the opportunity to meet Kate. At the end, she handed each of us a goodie bag, which included absolutely delicious cupcakes baked and provided by Katie Kupcakes and a variety of samples including Childs Farm, York Cocoa Works, Yorkshire Explorer Spirits and Boka.
