This Time Next Year Tag

Tag posts are super old school, but I enjoy the nostalgia and taking part. During March, I am advertising my blog via Laureny Loves and whilst browsing her blog I noticed she’d took part in the This Time Next Year Tag. Her post was showcasing the results a year after her initial post, which was super interesting to read seeing what had changed in a year.

I did recently write a post summarising the past year, which you can read here: 2022 Reflections. I like to set myself goals, so this tag seems perfect for me. Like Lauren, I’ve put my own twist on the tag and not followed it strictly, but you can find the rules below.

If you’d like to take part in the This Time Next Year Tag, then here are the rules:

  1. Thank the person who tagged you.
  2. Write your goals for next year
  3. Write how you’re going to achieve these goals
  4. Tag at least 5 blogger friends
  5. This last one is optional, but in 365 days, write a post about whether or not you’ve been successful!

Home

At this moment in time, we are waiting for our house to finish being built. By this time next year, we should be fully settled in our new home and have made it our own. I’m excited to put our own stamp on it, including setting up a gaming room in the spare bedroom (which will also be the guest bedroom). I’ve got a colour scheme in mind for each room, such as the living room. I’m very excited to be able to start furniture shopping and buying things for our new home!

Job

Professionally, I’m earning the most I’ve ever earned which is a wonderful feeling. I recently got a promotion to Fundraising and Marketing Officer at the charity I work for, I’m enjoying settling into my role and I can’t wait to see how things progress throughout the year as I work on our fundraising plan for the year. We are both currently saving as much as we can, for our new home and for our wedding.

Blogging

I would love to be more consistent with blogging, it’s just super tough at the moment as I’m not in my usual space where I can focus on my blog. I’m aiming to focus on writing more food review content this year, as this is something I really enjoy doing. After I rebranded my blog last year, I knowingly took a hit on the income from my blog so I’m aiming to build this back up throughout the year. Even if I just see a small increase compared to the previous financial year, I will be happy.

Self

I’m keen to always work on my self confidence, I put a lot of pressure on myself and this does harm to my confidence. My current place of work has really improved my confidence professionally, so I’m excited to see how I will grow as a person over the next year. I’m also guilty of comparing myself to others (mostly due to social media) so I have to take a step back every so often. I’d also like to focus on my health.

Wedding

We are getting married in 2024, there is still a lot of planning which needs to happen. I’m trying to be as organised as possible and budget where I can. As previously mentioned we are both working hard to save for the house and the wedding. There are some tough decisions to make and we will need to consider what we want for our wedding day. I am starting to become very excited and I’m going to try really hard to focus on my health, particularly with the wedding in mind.

I personally won’t be tagging anyone as some people find these types of things annoying and don’t have the time to take part. If you would like to take part, but if you are reading this post and would like to take part in the tag yourself, it’d be fabulous if you could give me a little mention.

In a years time, I will write a post to give an update with how I’ve got on!
