Visiting Harrogate

As I headed to Harrogate on what seemed to be a sunny Sunday, it began to snow. Even though I’m from Yorkshire, I enjoy visiting other towns and cities which is why I was looking forward to my stay in Harrogate. The Majestic Hotel is such a beautiful building, with stunning gardens.

I’d booked a stay at The Majestic Hotel, Harrogate with my ex but we are no longer together. I was still determined to go and enjoy a relaxing short break away. I ended up inviting my friend Becca along (who lives in Harrogate), so she could enjoy a nice 3 course meal with me and show me more of Harrogate.

Flowers from Becca

As I walked into the hotels reception, I spotted Becca smiling at me holding flowers and a card, bless her. We checked-in, booked the time slot for our evening meal and headed up to the room.

The Deluxe room exceeded my expectations, it was really spacious. The rooms were very clean. It also felt super cosy.

We went for a walk into Harrogate and headed to Lush. I bought a bath bomb and bath melt thinking I could have a bath back at the hotel, later in the evening. This didn’t happen though as I couldn’t get the bath to work haha.

After realising we fancied a drink, Becca and I found a Costa so we could warm up. I had a yummy soya hot chocolate.

When we got back to the hotel we had an hour or so to get ready for our meal. Both of us wore a piece of our Black Milk because we’re cool like that.

We’d booked in to eat our 3 course meal at 6pm. The dining room was absolutely huge and beautifully set out. The table was decorated stunningly. Look how cute it was set out!

Valentines - The Majestic Hotel

Starter - The Majestic Hotel

For starter I chose garlic & herb portobello with ratatouille vegetables and herbed crumb. It was beautifully presented and tasted delicious.

Grilled Salmon - The Majestic Hotel

I decided on grilled fillet of salmon with sautéed new potatoes, buttered beans and butter sauce for main. The salmon literally melted in my mouth, it tasted so good. Becca had the marinated lamb rump which smelt and looked amazing.

Dessert - The Majestic Hotel

Finally, for dessert I didn’t want something very heavy, so I opted for vanilla panna cotta. I loved the cute valentines themed touches to the food. It looked far too pretty to eat.

Monteys Harrogate

After we finished our three course meal, we headed out into Harrogate for some cocktails. There is a rock bar called Monteys, which used to also be in York. It used to be one of my favourite places to go, so I was excited to have one of my favourite cocktails again, dennis the menace. James (Becca’s boyfriend) also met us for a drink which was nice.

After we finished our drinks, Becca went home and I headed back to my hotel and curled up in bed with my laptop. I felt so relaxed. I actually had a decent nights sleep.

Cooked Breakfast - The Majestic Hotel

In the morning I was a little nervous about going down to breakfast by myself, but I braved it. I had a cooked full english breakfast which was so tasty and it really set me up for the rest of my day.

After breakfast I went to explore the hotel grounds. It had snowed overnight but the sun was shining so brightly, it really was lovely. I spent the rest of my morning relaxing in the hotel room on my laptop, before I had to check out.

I really enjoyed my short stay in Harrogate, I’d love to return again. If I ever get to return to The Majestic Hotel, I’d definitely treat myself to some spa treatments – it looked so nice. Thank you Becca for joining me and being my personal Harrogate tour guide!
