When planning an outfit, it’s important to give yourself time to think through and prepare your look. Denim has a universal appeal, there are many styles and options. From boutique denim jeans from MySistersCloset-Boutique, to distressed denim, to embroidered denim, there is so much choice. Here are some suggestions of do’s and don’ts when wearing denim jeans.
The Do’s
Do wear a belt – By wearing a belt, you can add unique detail and style to your outfit. Belts aren’t always just useful for keeping your jeans up on your body.
Do keep it simple – If you are wearing embroidered denim, keep it simple. Wear a plain top or shirt, avoiding bright colours and patterns.
Do wear the right footwear – When you are deciding which shoes you should wear, there are so many options. The great things about jeans is they give you so many options when choosing footwear. Jeans can be paired with open-toed sandals, boots, high heels, trainers and so much more!
The Don’ts
Don’t wear the same shade from head to toe – You don’t want to look too matchy-matchy. By avoiding the same denim shades, double denim can be done well – if its executed correctly.
Don’t get caught up in blue colours – Different tones of blue when wearing double denim can look nice, but you could also move away from the blue tones and see how your outfit looks with a black jacket.
Don’t wear denim accessories – When you are already wearing denim, it is best to avoid wearing denim accessories. It can look over the top and too much.
These are just a few suggestions of do’s and don’ts when wearing denim jeans. Ultimately, you will know your style, what works best for you and you’ll know what you feel most comfortable in.
